The Internet: Love It? Loathe It?

The Internet…When it comes to fishing, I absolutely loathe it. And at the same time I love it.
The massive amount of information online provides anglers with an unlimited amount of educational material. But at the same time, it can be very, very dangerous.
With a couple flicks of your thumbs, you can instantly find weather forecasts, river flows, directions to boat ramps, up-to-the-minute fishing reports, instructions on how to cure eggs or tie knots or cut-plug a herring…basically anything you want to know about the fishing world is right there at your fingertips.
But there’s a dark side as well. One of my major issues with the Internet comes from folks who we will call “chest pounders” here. We all know the type: the guy who goes and fishes a spot (often for the first time), gets all excited about it and then feels the need to post pictures of his catch online.
